Overview:

Join one of India’s fastest-growing cybersecurity communities and be part of the team behind Vulncon, a premier security conference focused on research and innovation. We’re looking for passionate volunteers who want to contribute, learn, and grow while working with a high-impact team.

We are specifically looking for professionals who can contribute with maturity and ownership across technical, operational and creative tracks. Students are welcome to apply for select roles where early-career talent can add value.

Volunteering with Vulncon means contributing to a national-level cybersecurity event, gaining industry exposure, and working with top security researchers, founders, and enterprise leaders.

We want to ensure the right fit for a high-impact, community-driven role. Please do not apply if:

  1. You are only looking to attend the event for free without contributing meaningfully to the team or responsibilities.
  2. You are not curious, proactive, or are hesitant to take ownership of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  3. You cannot commit your availability before and during the event, including preparation phases, coordination, and on-ground execution.
  4. You are not comfortable with flexible working arrangements, async communication, or adapting to dynamic needs of the event.
  5. You are unable to dedicate time and energy to a volunteer-driven, community-focused initiative.

These roles are strictly volunteer positions — there are no financial incentives, salaries, or stipends included. The value lies in learning, networking, contribution, and being part of a high-caliber cybersecurity community.

Frontend Developer (2 Positions)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain responsive, high-performance UIs for the VulnCon website and internal portals.
  • Build modular React/Next.js components following clean, scalable code practices.
  • Ensure end-to-end optimization: performance, accessibility, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with design and backend engineering to deliver seamless user flows.
  • Execute UI/UX improvements using analytics, user behavior data, and iterative testing.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in React.js, Next.js, JavaScript (ES6+), Tailwind CSS, shadcn/UI.
  • Experience with API integrations and state management libraries.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD-based development workflows.
  • Bonus: knowledge of design systems, AppSec basics, animation libraries (Framer Motion/Lottie), or performance tuning.

Graphic Designer (1 Position)

Responsibilities

  • Design high-quality visuals including banners, posters, social media creatives, speaker cards, stage backdrops, certificates, and more.
  • Maintain strong visual branding across all marketing channels.
  • Work closely with content, marketing, and media teams to deliver creatives with fast turnaround times.
  • Assist in defining and updating VulnCon’s design language and brand identity.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate expertise in Figma.
  • Proficiency required in Photoshop and Illustrator; Canva experience is a plus.
  • Strong ability to strictly follow and apply established brand guidelines.
  • Possess excellent judgment in composition, color, and typography.
  • Reliably manage multiple tasks and meet all production deadlines.
  • Effective communication and constructive collaboration skills are essential.
  • Experience in video editing or motion graphics is a significant advantage.

Video Editor (2 Positions)

  • Edit promotional teasers, speaker introduction videos, recap reels, and highlight clips.
  • Add transitions, motion graphics, captions, animations, and audio enhancements.
  • Maintain consistent brand style across video content.
  • Coordinate with marketing and media teams for the timely delivery of edits aligned with campaign schedules.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or After Effects.
  • Strong sense of visual storytelling, pacing, and audience engagement.
  • Ability to work with raw footage from events and deliver polished, high-quality videos.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics is a plus.

Technical Content Creator (1 Position)

  • Write concise and engaging summaries for talks, workshops, and research topics.
  • Prepare technical blog posts, announcements, CFP updates, speaker highlights, and event documentation.
  • Translate complex cybersecurity concepts into digestible content for social media and web audiences.
  • Work closely with the speaker team and track leads to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains (red teaming, cloud security, vulnerability research, etc.).
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to simplify technical content.
  • Experience with documentation, blogging, or community‑driven content is beneficial.
  • Ability to deliver content quickly while maintaining high quality.

Marketing & Social Media Coordinator (2 Positions)

  • Manage day‑to‑day posting, engagement, and updates on VulnCon’s social media handles.
  • Plan and run campaigns for CFP, ticketing, speaker reveals, workshops, and sponsor highlights.
  • Collaborate with content and design teams for creative assets and messaging.
  • Engage with the cybersecurity community to grow reach and foster meaningful conversations.

Requirements

  • Experience with growth strategies for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Creative copywriting, community interaction, and brand‑voice alignment skills.
  • Experience in event marketing, tech marketing, or community management is a bonus.
