Code of Conduct!

Overview:

At Vulncon, we prioritize creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Our Code of Conduct sets clear guidelines for behaviour and outlines the consequences of unacceptable conduct. We encourage everyone, including sponsors, speakers, attendees, media, exhibitors, and volunteers, to contribute to a positive conference experience.

1. Acceptable Behaviour:

  • Respectful Conduct: Treat others with kindness, respect, and collaboration. Engage in constructive discussions and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Inclusivity: Embrace diversity, ensuring all participants feel valued, welcomed, and included, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, or experience level.
  • Professional Conduct: Adhere to ethical standards, maintain decorum, and follow all venue and platform rules.
  • Consent & Privacy: Respect personal boundaries and seek consent before taking photographs, recordings, or sharing personal information.
  • Constructive Engagement: Ask thoughtful questions, share insights, and engage in meaningful discussions without hostility or personal attacks.

2. Unacceptable Behaviour:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
  • Disruptive or offensive behavior
  • Unauthorized recording, photography, or distribution of content without consent
  • Violating personal boundaries, privacy, or engaging in stalking behavior
  • Smoking, vaping, or alcohol consumption within the event premises
  • Carrying weapons, dangerous materials, or engaging in any form of physical aggression
  • Engaging in fraudulent activities such as impersonation or misrepresentation
  • Spreading false information, rumors, or attempting to manipulate discussions
  • Attendees, speakers, exhibitors, or any participants are not allowed to distribute merchandise, promotional materials, or swag for marketing purposes without prior approval from the event organizers. Unapproved marketing activities undermine the confidence of official sponsors who have contributed to the event. Violators may be asked to cease distribution, and repeated offenses may lead to removal from the event.

3. Reporting Procedures:

If you experience or witness violations of this code of conduct, please:

  • Contact event staff (identified by official badges/shirts) immediately
  • Email our conduct team at contact[@]vulncon[.]in

4. Consequences:

Failure to adhere to the event's code of conduct may result in the following actions, depending on the severity of the violation:

  • Verbal Warning: A formal warning issued by event staff or security.
  • Removal from the Event: Immediate expulsion from the venue without a refund.
  • Ban from Future Events: Restriction from attending any future Vulncon events
  • Reporting to Authorities: In cases of severe misconduct or illegal activity, the incident may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

5. Anti-Harassment Policy:

  • Zero Tolerance: Harassment in any form will not be tolerated at Vulncon.
  • Definition of Harassment: Includes but is not limited to:
    • Offensive verbal, written, or physical conduct related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, or other personal characteristics.
    • Intimidation, stalking, or following individuals in a manner that causes distress.
    • Non-consensual photography, recording, or sharing of personal information.
    • Disrupting talks, panels, or official event proceedings.
    • Unwelcome physical contact or inappropriate advances.
    • Inappropriate jokes, gestures, or imagery that create a hostile environment.
  • Expected Conduct:
    • Participants must immediately stop any behavior deemed inappropriate by others.
    • Exhibitors, sponsors, and booth staff must follow this policy. Sexualized imagery, activities, or attire are strictly prohibited.
  • Consequences of Violations:
    • Verbal warning from event organizers.
    • Immediate removal from the event without a refund.
    • Ban from future Vulncon events.
    • Reporting to appropriate authorities if necessary.
  • Reporting Harassment:
    • Contact Vulncon staff (identified by official badges/shirts) immediately.
    • Report incidents via email at contact[@]vulncon[.]in

6. Photography & Videography Guidelines:

Vulncon is an open event, and we do not restrict attendees including Vulncon staff, volunteers, sponsors, and media from capturing photos or videos during our events. By attending Vulncon, you acknowledge that you are in a public space where photography and videography may occur.

We encourage all attendees to exercise good judgment and respect the privacy of others. If an attendee does not wish to be photographed or recorded, we request that their preference be honored.

The organizers reserve the right to use images and recordings taken at the event, which may include your photograph or likeness, for future promotional and marketing materials.

For those who do not wish to be photographed, stickers will be available at the reception desk. Please take one and wear it visibly to indicate your preference.
